A decent documentary by Mega Channel’s “Έρευνα” a couple years back spotlighted the dire situation on the side streets off Omonoia Square. Once a historic centre of commerce in the Greek capital, Omonoia has degraded into cesspool of social problems, namely drug dealing and addiction, prostitution, homelessness, deadly violence, and an uncontrolled ghetto of economic refugees living in 3rd world conditions.
